PHP mySQL driver does not work with IPv6

Over the last few days some users will have noted that the main site pages were loading slowly. This has now been fixed.

The major part of this site uses the free Open Source CMS called Joomla. This free software has been produced by hundreds of people working collectively for the common good and is an impressive product.

Hosting companies are currently upgrading their servers from IPv4 to IPv6 to take advantage of recent developments concerning the use of new domain names and the slow loading of web pages was caused by the Joomla- PHP mySQL driver not working with IPv6.
Other mySQL drivers do support IPv6.
This issue was solved by my hosting company WebWiz in less than 15 minutes. Super support!
